A passion for leadership, volunteering, and community inspired my work as a NHS Vice President and President.

My main goal for my presidential term was to strengthen our NHS chapter. Our chapter had been disrupted by the pandemic and was still rebuilding. My main focus was to add more volunteering opportunities, especially with prestigious organizations, like St. Jude.

Additionally, with the help of my advisor, I worked to add more leadership opportunities to our chapter, increase the minimum number of volunteering hours, and communicate with the members of our chapter.

St. Jude

At St. Jude’s 2023 Moments of Courage Gala, I assisted with auctioning, hospitality, and check-in.

Sisters in Christ

Working with Sisters in Christ has allowed me to become an active member of my church, work with global humanitarian efforts like the Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM), and connect to women across generations.

Pollinator Garden

I volunteered the first year the native plants garden was started and have continued to. It’s allowed me to connect with members of my community and to learn more about pollinators, invasive and native species, and gardening.

After my first year volunteering at the garden, I took AP Environmental Science, which increased my appreciation for preserving native species and prioritizing the health of pollinator populations in my community. My time volunteering has given me an amazing opportunity to connect classroom topics with real issues and make a difference in my community.

Camp BASIC

Volunteering at Camp BASIC gave me hands-on experience working with disabled people, which has been a valuable experience for my work in assisted living.
